Sage Healing

Harrogate ∙ Leeds ∙ Oxford

My aim is to treat you holistically, effectively and efficiently.

In order to tailor the treatment that’s right for your needs, I use one or a combination of complementary therapies: Advanced EMMETT Technique (for dogs and small animals), Holistic Aromatherapy & Massage, Clinical Aromatherapy, Clinical Reflexology, Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD), ScarWork – McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® (MSTR), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Indian Head Massage and Flower Remedies.

Body, Mind, Spirit – these treatments are beneficial for your health and wellbeing.

30 years experience of nursing and as a complementary practitioner in a variety of clinical settings, has given me the knowledge and intuition to use these therapies and techniques for your benefit.

All of these treatments aim to awaken the body’s own incredible natural defences and healing abilities. People often find that they have an affinity with one or two particular therapies, but can benefit from all at some time or another.

After a consultation we will discuss what treatment is best for you at that time. Some people are very clear what they’d like, what works for them and others prefer me to guide them. Either is fine.

I am an EMM-Tech Course Tutor and EMMETT 4 Dogs Instructor and have great fun sharing this incredible technique and seeing others witnessing its results!

I believe that regular treatments to relax, re-balance and nurture are essential for us to live as healthily and happily as possible. At times we may need more frequent support in order to cope with the greater stresses that life and ill-health can bring.

Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy and Reflexology can be used to support cancer patients, in line with the information published by Cancer Research UK https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/treatment/complementary-alternative-therapies/individual-therapies

I am passionate about collaboration and work with other health professionals in an integrated way. I work and have worked in clinics of complementary medicine, schools and hospital education services with children with complex physical and learning needs, Cancer Care Centres, GP surgeries, sports centres, psychiatric and general hospitals, Social Services, Retail and Occupational Health Services.

Please use the contact form to get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you!

Aroma-Intervention work

Teresa is presenting a lecture at the leading international conference for clinical aromatherapy and related herbal therapeutics Botanica 2024 on her Aroma-Intervention work in special schools with children with severe complex physical and learning needs.

The aim of my practice is to help my clients to find ways of living as positively as possible, working effectively, attending to what is most important to them.

I’m inspired by the transformations I see in my clients each session; from their relaxed faces, easier, smoother movements and pain relief, to the things they achieve they thought they’d never do.

Complementary Therapies

The Emmett Technique

EMMETT Technique

A light-touch muscle-release therapy, that is incredibly effective in relieving pain, regaining balance, helping to correct posture and function. Its effects are noticeable almost immediately. Much can be achieved just in one or a few treatments. The EMMETT Technique is very versatile and can be given in virtually any situation and with any other therapy. Known as ‘first aid for muscles’, it is also great for relaxation and maintenance treatments.

holistic and clinical aromatherapy massage

Holistic and Clinical Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health. Some of the health benefits of aromatherapy include its ability to reduce anxiety, ease depression, boost energy levels, speed up the healing process, eliminate headaches, boost cognitive performance and memory, induce sleep, strengthen the immune system, reduce pain, improve digestion and increase circulation.

Clinical Reflexology

Reflexology is a safe, holistic and non-invasive therapy which stimulates the body’s own natural healing energies and processes, through precise massage of pressure points – reflexes –on the feet (or hands). Reflexology promotes good health and wellbeing. It treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease and so most people can benefit from it.

Reflexology Lymph Draining (RLD)

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a multi award winning, evidence-based reflexology technique, originally researched and developed by Sally Kay. RLD focuses on reducing secondary lymphoedema, but it is also effective on primary lymphoedema, lymphatic and vascular disorders. We are beginning to really appreciate how important the lymphatic system is, particularly in relation to the immune system and aiding other body functions.

Scar Work Therapy (ScarWork) & (MSTR)

ScarWork & McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® (MSTR) are innovative, pain-free and natural methods of helping you with your scars and the long-lasting deeper effects they may have physically (e.g. back pain, restrictions in movement), not just the appearance, mentally and emotionally (how you feel about it, your body and the memories associated with it).

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is when we are in a state of relaxation, like being on ‘automatic pilot’. In hypnosis we are still aware, still in control and can still make decisions. Hypnotherapy is effective because the client is in touch with their subconscious mind, the seat of all emotion and behaviour, including our emotional and behavioural problems.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

IHM is a massage therapy that works specifically on the head, scalp, face, neck and extends to the shoulders and upper back. Traditionally oils are used to encourage hair growth and condition, this is optional. IHM massage practised in the West is a blend of traditional Indian and western massage techniques. An IHM is deeply relaxing and can be beneficial to reduce stress, improve hair condition, and relieve headaches, sinusitis, and more.

Flower Remedies

Flower Remedies

The history of flower essences can be traced back many thousands of years with many cultures using flower essences to treat emotional health and wellbeing. Flower essences have been described as vibrational therapy and the Bach and Australian Bush Flower Essences are used all over the world to help manage the emotional demands of modern life. They are great as a stand-alone treatment or as a support/helper with other treatments.

Ear Candling

Ear Candling

Hollow Hopi Ear Candles, created with extracts of honey, sage, beeswax, St. John’s Wort, Chamomile and other medicinal herbs are burnt whilst positioned in the ear canal. Traditionally used by shamanic healers, their indications for use include headaches, irritation of the ear canal, sinusitis, altitude or depth pressure (e.g. pain when scuba diving at depth), tinnitus, vertigo and to soothe rhinitis. It is very relaxing and usually done with Reiki and soothing face and head massage

The EMMETT Technique for Animals is an amazingly effective, gentle, safe and easy to apply muscle release therapy. It helps to address pain and discomfort, improve body movement and restrictions, restore a positive emotional / behavioural state and improve the general quality of life.

I have to say I’m blown away! Wow!

I’ve had issues with my right elbow for 20+ years.

I just happened to explain this to Teresa & with one tiny movement everything has gone back into place. This used to prevent me doing certain exercises in the gym & certain movements in everyday life. It’s gone all together. Fully functional for 1st time in 20+ years.

Thanks soooo much. X x x.
